Edward Clifford Sawyer

EdwardSawyerCorporal Edward Clifford Sawyer, was based at Lockerbie, Dunfrieshire and served  with Reconnaissance 1941 - 1946.  He was also a member of the Pegasus Parachute Regiment.
Died 23rd September, 1965.


During his service hSAWYER 4 Medalse was awarded
the France & Germany Star,
the Defence medal,
the Battle of Britain Star,
and the War medal.

He was also awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal

The award of these medals was at the discretion of the local government authority, who were free to decide who got a medal and why. In general, this medal was awarded to the Royal Family, officers of state, officials and servants of the royal household, ministers, government officials, mayors, public servants, local government officials, members of the navy, army, air force and police in Britain, her colonies and Dominions for contribution to the community.

WAAF Corporal 447294 Johnanna Simkiss was stationed at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire,
Manby in Lancashire and Lockerbie in Scotland.
